I am heading off to Iraq soon and wanted to give you my contact information. I am leaving EL Paso on 26 July and heading to Ft. Benning, Ga for a week. Then it is off to Laundsthul Germany, then Kuwait and I then should arrive at Camp Diamondback Mosul around the 10th of August. Below is the actual picture of the inside of my CHU (Combat Housing Unit) and then an example of the exterior of a CHUs. Mine will likely require no sandbags!
If you would like to see where I will be, you too can visit beautiful Mosul. Go to Google Earth and look for the airfield on the south side of the city and west of the river. The hospital is located on the north side of the airstrip at the end of the tarmac. I will likely be living in one of the buildings on the south side of the hospital.

I will be bringing my laptop with me and will have an internet connection in my room. I have two email addresses but I prefer to use hotmail. I hear that sometimes hotmail does not work so well in theater. Thus, I am including my Army email address.

Another great way to stay in touch is by Skype. This is a free internet phone service that only requires an email address to register. I bought a USB phone headset at Bestbuy for $29 and set it up on both Melissa's and my computers. The video conferencing worked very well!
Anyway, for computer to computer calls, there is no charge! One can use Skype to call cell phones and land lines but there is a small charge. Anyway, it is fun and it reminds me of the Jetsons.
I also wanted to say thanks to all those who have called and emailed in the recent days. Melissa and I really appreciate the support. I am sorry that I have not been able to return all your calls but I plan on doing so in the near future.
