Well, we are all very sad here because our good friend Papa Baier went home. He stopped off in Al Asad to visit his son and it seems like the two boys had a good time "playing Army." I posted the link to Papa Baier's blog below. Take a look at it (Bonesetter), he has some very interesting stuff.
My friend Daniel is a Neonatologist from Hawaii and she shared a few of her pictures with me so I am going to share them with you!
Here is a cute little hedge hog that someone found on the base. His bristles are not as strong as a porcupine but they were still quite strong.
This little toughy is a mongoose and he was found in one of our garages. He was nasty little guy but I guess one would have to be if a large part of your diet consisted of poisonous snakes. We spent hours interrogating him but he never broke. He was later released back to his homeland without incident.
This is Sergeant First Class Budge. Although he is a fat and lazy NCO, he is rather likable. His sole mission is to maintain moral and study exactly how much junk food one dog can consume. He has done an outstanding job fulfilling his mission and will probably be awarded the Bronze Star.
This sign is a friendly reminder that our hospital, with its old Iraqi plumbing, can not handle a healthy US BM. Even though it might seem like a nice idea to have some quality private time in a real bathroom.....we are just going to have to wait until we get home.
Above, you see a sissy getting a flu shot. However, I am not as big a sissy as one of our commanders seen below.
Thankfully, our fearless leader was quickly resuscitated with smelling salts. We are definitely the toughest fighting force in the world! Go Army!

I LOVE hedgehogs!! Went through a phase where I was very close to adopting one. Then I realized that it was really just my maternal clock kicking in and what I really wanted was a kid - look at me now: 2 of them and not a hedgehog in sight!!
